Em 2 de fevereiro de 2013, foi anunciado que Charles Michael Davis foi escalado como Marcel e será um dos atores em The Originals spin-off de The Vampire Diaries no episódio do dia 25 de abril .
Marcel é ex-protegido de Klaus que o transformou séculos atrás, e que agora é o Rei da comunidade sobrenatural no Bairro Francês de Nova Orleans.
Marcel tem sido descrito como mau e selvagem. Antes de ser transformado por Klaus, ele era um rato de rua que foi chutado por outras pessoas. Charles Michael Davis cast as Marcel in The Originals
On February 2, 2013, it was announced that Charles Michael Davis has been cast as Marcel and will be one of the regulars on the new The Originals spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. The April 25th episode of The Vampire Diaries, the backdoor pilot for The Originals set in New Orleans, will start filming March 11 in the Big Easy. Marcel is Klaus’ diabolical former protégé, who he turned centuries ago, and who is now the King of the supernatural community in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Marcel has been described as wicked and wild. Prior to being turned by Klaus, he was a street rat that was kicked around by other people. Once turned, I’m sure nobody kicked him around anymore! Now he’s fierce, bold, and strong just like an ancient vampire should be. He’s put together together the New Orleans supernatural community and has set rules of conduct in place. I wonder what happens if somebody doesn’t obey these rules or crosses him? As you can see from his beautiful picture, he’s as charismatic and deadly as his sire, Klaus. It should be quite a power struggle when Klaus returns to claim his position as King of the New Orleans supernatural community.
From previous press it looks like Elijah will be aligning himself with Marcel’s enemies in the hopes of helping Klaus in his quest for redemption. I can’t wait to see how everybody will align and interact with each other, and hopefully we’ll see lots of cross-overs between The Originals andThe Vampire Diaries. That would be so cool!
So what do we know about Charles Michael Davis, this new kick-ass ancient vampire? From the quote on his website, “Know thyself. Be thyself.” he sounds like a mellow guy and philosopher! Charles is not only an actor, but is also a photographer and athlete. His sports include boxing, golf, weight lifting, track & field, and gymnastics, just to name a few. He’s an African American and Pacific Islander, and has been active in movies, television, commercials, and has also modeled. He’s co-starred on Disney’s “That’s So Raven,” been on ABC Family’s “Switched at Birth,” ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “The Game.” Some commercials you may have seen him in include ones for Mcdonalds McCafe, Excel, and Pontiac. He’s modeled for Skechers, Nike Shox Turbo, Coors Light. He’s skilled at dancing, firearms, junggling, and martial arts, and plays sax and piano. He’s a fantastic addition to The Originals, as is all the other cast members, and hopefully we’ll see him on The Vampire Diaries, too!
