Candice says that her character, Caroline, knows that Stefan and Damon are trying to use force to turn Elena’s humanity back on. Caroline is used to being the savior. She feels she has a way of bringing people’s humanity out and taking care of them, which is why she wants to try to help Elena.
She feels that Caroline has grown 10-fold since the start of the series, and doesn’t think that Caroline will hold Elena accountable for some of the nasty things she’s done since Damon compelled her humanity away when Jeremy died. Caroline still has feelings, and she’s very sensitive. She also has an ego and wants to be liked by everybody.
But what about Klaroline? Candice says that Caroline is consumed right now with graduation, so even though she knows that Klaus has been gone, it really doesn’t sink in. She says we’ll get to see Caroline’s reaction in the finale when she learns that Klaus is leaving for New Orleans. Candice says that Klaroline fans will be intrigued by the finale. Klaus and his love will have some moments. Candice says she doesn’t know where the relationship will go, but it sounds like we won’t see the end of Klaroline, in spite of Klayley.
Candice says that at the beginning Klaus will probably need to keep his attention focused on what’s happening in New Orleans, but I’m sure Caroline will never be far from his mind. Julie has teased that there will be as many crossovers as the schedules allow, and there are probably going to be the usual 24 episodes for the season. Both shows are planning to film next door to each other, which will also encourage crossovers.
Lots of opportunities to keep exploring and advancing their relationship. And notice that Caroline is smiling in the picture above! A very good sign!
