Ele estava tão arrojado como sempre, sem novidades quanto a isso - mas a única coisa que nos deixou de boca aberta foi a sua relação com Katherine, para não mencionar o beijo que ele deu em Elena enquanto pensava que ela era sua Katerina!
Sabemos que Elijah se encantou com Katherine quando ele a conheceu e também ele foi muito claro sobre o seu carinho com Elena. Afinal, ele parece ser o único original que realmente se importa com Elena e a Elena o único original que realmente gosta. Então, de onde tudo isso vem e há uma razão para Elijah preferir as Doppelgangers?

Last episode of The Vampire Diaries marked the return of our beloved Original brother - Elijah. He was as dashing as ever, no news there – but the thing that left us open mouthed was his relationship with Katherine, not to mention that kiss he gave to Elena while thinking she was his Katerina!
We know that Elijah have had romantic feelings towards Katherine when he first met her and also he was pretty clear about his affection towards Elena. After all, he seems to be the only Original who really cares about Elena and the only Original Elena actually likes. So, where does this all come from and is there a reason why Elijah prefers the Doppelgangers?
It is actually pretty obvious. It all started with the Original Petrova – Tatia. During his early life, before becoming a vampire, both he and Klaus fell in love with the beautiful Tatia and even fought over her. Elijah even mentioned their feelings for The Original Petrova to Klaus in Season Two, Episode “Klaus”: Klaus tells Elijah about “love” being a vampire’s biggest weakness when Elijah tells Klaus about having feelings, caring and humanity. Klaus says that vampires do not feel and they do not care but then Elijah mentions about Tatia by saying “We did once” to which Klaus replies by saying “It`s too many lifetimes ago to matter.”
Eshter, the mother of Elijah and Niklaus, used her in the spell to create the Original Vampires, with her blood as part of the wine laced with blood Mikael had given his children. Her blood was also part of the spell Esther used to bind Klaus’s werewolf side, which resulted in Klaus’s werewolf gene being dormant.
When Elijah first met Katherine he said to her ”I’m sorry, you remind me of someone.” clearly referring to Tatia. They had a sweet and friendly relationship until Katherine betrayed him for her own freedom. Elijah seemed like he had learned from his mistakes regarding believing Katherine but it turned out he still believes Katherine can change and seems to be in love with her at the moment…Especially after she gave him the cure in the last episode?
